The Catholic Development Commission Diocesan officers from the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) have received a two-days training on Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The training which took place at the Catholic Secretariat in Lilongwe was meant to improve the skills and capacity of the participants in information technology.
This training is one of the initiatives of the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) aimed at building the capacity of its Malawi partners supported with projects within the social development domain. The idea came about after carrying a partner assessment in which computer literacy emerged as one of the major skill gap. To address this knowledge gap, the National CADECOM organized the training for all diocesan officers to be equipped with the much needed skills in Microsoft Word and Excel packages which are so crucial in their day to day duties.
